UK Van Market Sees Record Growth in Q1 2026

Short Description

New figures reveal that van registrations in the UK have hit an all-time high in Q1 2026, driven by the surge in last-mile delivery demand.

Details

The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) has released data showing a 14% year-on-year increase in van registrations during the first quarter of 2026. The growth is largely attributed to the continued expansion of e-commerce and last-mile logistics. Medium-sized panel vans accounted for the largest share of registrations, with Ford Transit and Volkswagen Transporter leading the charts. Fleet operators cited fuel efficiency and payload capacity as key buying factors. Industry experts predict sustained growth throughout 2026 as infrastructure investment continues to rise.
