The UK government has announced a landmark £500 million fund dedicated to supporting businesses making the switch to zero-emission vans. The fund will offer grants covering up to 35% of the purchase price for eligible electric light commercial vehicles. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) will receive priority access to funding. The scheme is part of the government’s broader Road to Zero strategy, targeting a complete ban on new petrol and diesel van sales by 2035. Industry bodies have welcomed the move, though some have called for additional investment in charging infrastructure at commercial premises.
