Mercedes-Benz eSprinter: Is the Range Now Enough?

Short Description

Mercedes-Benz has updated the eSprinter with improved battery options. We examine whether the range improvements finally make it a viable choice for working fleets.

Details

The revised Mercedes-Benz eSprinter arrives with a choice of 56kWh and 81kWh battery options, offering real-world ranges of approximately 120 and 175 miles respectively. For urban and suburban operators, the larger battery option now makes a genuinely compelling case. Payload is rated at up to 1,045kg depending on specification, and the load area dimensions match the diesel Sprinter exactly. Charging speed has improved to 115kW DC, allowing an 80% charge in under 40 minutes. Mercedes-Benz is offering a comprehensive fleet support package including route analysis and charging infrastructure consultation for operators making the switch.
